Aun Ali Khosa, a prominent YouTuber known for his satirical take on current events in Pakistan, recently gained attention with his song ‘Bill Bill Pakistan’ has been arrested.

The song humorously addresses the public’s frustration over escalating electricity costs. Following the song’s viral success on social media, reports surfaced that approximately ten unidentified individuals had apprehended Khosa.

AOA everyone, today in the middle of the night my Brother @aun_khosa has been taken into custody by some unknown armed men from his Flat in Lahore. Kindly pray for him. Do spread the word as it will mean a lot to our Family #releaseAunAliKhosa pic.twitter.com/tBaIPTOa48

Ali Sher Khosa, Aun’s brother, took to the social media platform X to announce that unknown armed men had forcibly detained his brother during the night. He implored the community to pray for Aun and to spread the word about his capture, highlighting the severity of the situation for their family.

Wajahat Sami, a cultural commentator, stated that Aun Ali Khosa was allegedly abducted due to his creation of the satirical anthem ‘Bil Bil Pakistan’. The song critiques the paradox of celebrating freedom amidst enduring poverty and disenfranchisement 77 years post-independence.

Journalist Shakir Mehmood Awan noted that Aun Ali Khosa’s critical expression was seen as a protest, and he was purportedly detained for supposedly insulting the national anthem. According to Awan, a high-ranking official ordered Khosa’s immediate arrest upon learning of the song’s provocative content.
