Acclaimed actor Will Smith has recently made headlines with his candid revelations about his open relationship with his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, his partner since 1997. Adding an intriguing twist to his narrative, Smith delved into his desires and fantasies involving other women during a candid interview.
Smith’s Romantic Fantasies
The interview, conducted by GQ magazine, saw the “Pursuit of Happyness,” “Bad Boys,” and “Hitch” star share their intriguing fantasies of romantic engagements with actress Halle Berry and dancer Misty Copeland. Smith articulated a youthful vision, “I don’t know where I saw it when I was a teenager, but the idea of traveling with 20 women that I loved and cared for and all that, I thought that was a wonderful idea.
” This vision also included dating several women, featuring the notable actress. Smith added, “It doesn’t make me a bad person to be married and think Halle is beautiful,” acknowledging his Christian upbringing where entertaining such thoughts was considered sinful.
An Open Relationship as a Response to Marital Crisis
In his autobiography, “Will,” Smith sheds light on a significant marital crisis that shook his relationship with Jada roughly a decade ago. He candidly wrote, “Our marriage wasn’t working. We could no longer pretend.
We were both miserable and evidently, something had to change.” It was through this hardship that both Smith and his wife found the freedom and trust they needed to reshape their relationship into an open marriage, a decision he admits may not suit everyone.
The Oscar nominee stated, “The experiences and freedoms we’ve given each other and the unconditional support, to me, is the highest definition of love,” depicting the openness of their marriage. Smith even shared that he and his wife actively sought other sexual partners to enrich their relationship, expressing openness to experiencing “a fresh sampling of the fruits of the human experience.”
