The University of Karachi has updated its dress code policy, stressing the importance of maintaining a respectful and modest appearance on campus.
Dr. Nosheen Raza, the Students’ Advisor, issued the guidelines in a notification dated January 14, 2025, setting clear expectations for student attire.
Per the new guidelines, students must wear clean and modest clothing that upholds the dignity of the academic environment. The university specifically bans clothing considered provocative, offensive, or likely to cause distraction.
The prohibition includes revealing or see-through clothing, shorts, sleeveless or tight-fitting garments, and any attire with objectionable language or graphics. Furthermore, wearing casual slippers like flip-flops is not permitted on university grounds.
Students must comply with these dress code regulations on campus to foster a conducive learning atmosphere.
