Gas load shedding to the Karachi industry has been extended by two days.
As Karachi’s crisis deepens, industrial locations may face two days of gas load shedding instead of one.
All Karachi industrial complexes and captive power plants will be without gas for two days.
Seven industrial zones and captive power units were told not to consume SSGC gas from December 17-19. (Saturday and Sunday).
Sources say authorities will prosecute violators, and SSGC will conduct surprise raids on all industrial sites.
Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh criticized gas load-shedding on December 13, saying the province produces more natural gas than it needs but is being denied its entitlement.
Energy minister Imtiaz Shaikh told ARY News that Sindh should have precedence for natural gas over other places.
Sindh’s energy minister said, “We’ll sue if necessary.” “We’re also considering raising the issue with the CCI,” he stated.
He added that the chief minister had forwarded Sindh’s gas crisis to the federal government. He hopes the PM notices.
The provincial minister said more gas would help Karachi’s industries.
Sindh, which generates the most natural gas in Pakistan, is scarce for home, industrial, and commercial consumers.
