King Khan, while addressing the KIFF, said, “Cinema and social media have become the primary expressions of human experience and emotion. Social media shapes the zeitgeist. Social networking won’t hurt movies, despite popular perception. I think Cinema’s importance has grown. Social media promotes a restricted picture of human nature. Negativity boosts social media usage and commercial value. These pursuits divide and destroy the communal narrative.”
Amid the boycott, the Pathaan trend has inspired fans to initiate supportive Twitter trends with hashtags ‘Pathaan Dekhega Hindustan’ and ‘Pathaan First Day First Show.’
Pathaan’s first song Besharam Rung has been mocked online. “Hamare jaise positive log zinda hai” may have referred to trolls.
