At least one person was killed and 14 others injured as twin blasts rocked Peshawar’s Mathra area earlier today.
According to initial reports, an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a police convoy injuring two people. As people and investigation teams arrived at the site of the attack, another blast occurred, killing one police official and injuring several others.
“One person was killed and 14 others were injured,” Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) spokesperson said. SSP Abbas Majeed confirmed the attack and said three policemen were among those injured.
Rescue 1122 officials claimed to have shifted six injured to the hospital.
A DSNG van of Express News and Rescue 1122’s vehicle were damaged as a result of the blasts.
