Trump Defends Election Fraud Claims as Based on “Instincts” Amid Legal Battles

Despite criminal lawsuits purported malpractice during the 2020 presidential elections, former US President Donald Trump asserted that the origins of the poll fraud allegations were based purely on “his instincts.”

In a candid disclosure, Trump admitted to disregarding the advice of his legal team, citing a lack of respect for them.

During a conversation on NBC News’ Meet the Press, Trump reinforced his unsubstantiated claims regarding electoral manipulation, unequivocally stating, “It was my decision.” He emphasized his reliance on his “instincts” to form such a judgement.

The celebrity-turned-politician is currently navigating through four separate legal battles encompassing a range of issues, from alleged hush-money payments to an adult film actress to inciting the populace with misinformation about election rigging, which culminated in the riots on January 6, 2021. Other charges include improper possession of classified documents post-presidency and engaging in criminal racketeering to overturn Georgia’s election outcomes.

Donald Trump is asked if he ever thinks about the possibility of going to jail.

Trump’s Ongoing Battles and Allegations

While attacking his detractors, the septuagenarian insisted that his focus remains on serving the American populace, reverberating his age-old slogan of striving to enhance the nation’s greatness.

Discussing the charges levied against him, he dubbed them “Biden-indictments,” attributing them to President Joe Biden, whom he believes is orchestrating his legal predicaments. In a scathing critique, he likened this treatment to what one might expect in unstable political climates often seen in banana republics or third-world nations.

Persistently, the billionaire maintains that the previous election was unlawfully seized from him, citing rampant voter fraud as the cause.

Remarks on Former Attorney General

As for his interactions with the former Attorney General William Barr, who had informed him of his electoral defeat, Trump remarked, “I listened to some people. Guys like Bill Barr, who was stiff but wasn’t there at the time. But he didn’t do his job because he was afraid.”

Trump has vehemently denied all criminal charges, dismissing them as political ploys and maintaining his innocence. He continues to view the ongoing lawsuits as a politically motivated witch hunt targeting him.
