A long-standing land dispute between two tribes in Kurram Agency has escalated dramatically over the past several days.

The conflict, which has already claimed numerous lives, continued into its fifth day with intense firing. As of Saturday, the death toll had surpassed 27.

According to media reports, multiple missiles were fired on Parachinar and Sadda city. Clashes in several villages have resulted in 112 injuries so far. The use of heavy and automatic weapons, including rockets, missiles, and machine guns, has been reported.

By Sunday, the violence had intensified further, bringing the total number of fatalities to 27 and the number of injured to 133. Due to the ongoing hostilities, the main road from Parachinar to Peshawar has been closed to all traffic.

DC kurram, Col from Brigade, SP Police, Anjuman Hussainia, Tahreek Hussaini, Ex MNA Sajid, etc. have tried to visit the tribes for ceasefire. However, they failed, and there is no ceasefire.

In response to the escalating violence, heavy contingents of police and security forces have been deployed to the affected areas. Despite their presence, the fighting has not yet been quelled.

MNA Engineer Hamid Hussain reported that hospitals and markets in the area have run out of essential medicines. Provincial Assembly Member Ali Hadi Irfani has urged the government to take immediate measures to enforce a ceasefire and restore order.
