According to the police officer, the terrorists escaped following the attack. He stated that the search effort had been suspended and would resume locating the attackers during the day.

The police repulsed the terrorists about two hours after their midnight onslaught.

Police contingents came to the scene following the report of the terrorist incident. Following the assault, the entire area was closed off, according to a police spokesperson. Additionally, police contingents and armored personnel vehicles raced to the volatile area.

According to CCPO Ijaz Khan, DSP Sardar Hussain rushed to the police station after the assault. He left his car near Shahabkhel and left for the Sarband police station on foot. However, they were targeted by sniper fire from terrorists.

The DSP and his two gunmen, Irshad and Jehanab, perished on the spot. They all got head and body wounds from gunfire.

Authorities began searching the area surrounding the Sarband police station for terrorists after transferring the bodies to a hospital. However, there have been no reports of terrorist arrests or killings.
