The assets beyond known sources of income case against Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and other defendants was dismissed by an accountability court on Tuesday.
Following the conclusion of both parties’ arguments, the court reserved its decision on Monday.
AC Judge Muhammad Bashir, while announcing the reserved verdict, stated that due to recent changes to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) law, they could not hear the assets case against Ishaq Dar and other defendants.
The court has returned the referral to the NAB. After pronouncing the short order, judge Muhammad Bashir noted that the verdict’s specifics would be made public later.
Previously, a court of accountability (AC) granted Finance Minister Dar a one-day exemption from a court appearance in the assets beyond means issue.
In 2017, a reference was filed against Ishaq Dra, Saeed Ahmed, Naeem Mahmood, and Mansoor Raza Rizvi. During the case’s trial, the testimony of 42 witnesses was recorded.
Ishaq Dar fled the United States in November 2017 under the guise of seeking medical care in London.
The accountability court (AC) had already designated finance minister Ishaq Dar a proscribed criminal due to his persistent absenteeism from sessions.
