Chicken meat prices have spiked sharply in Lahore and other Punjab cities, raising concerns among residents facing high living expenses.

In Lahore, the price has reached over Rs650 per kilogram, surpassing the government’s set rate of Rs594 per kilogram.

Despite district government-issued price lists, compliance remains low, worsening the situation.

This price surge extends beyond Punjab. Chicken meat prices have climbed even higher in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cities like Peshawar.

Traders in these areas indicate that live chicken now costs Rs490 per kilogram, reflecting a recent increase of about Rs100 per kilogram for broiler chicken meat.
