After being suspended for five days, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) resumed providing gas to Quetta, the capital of the Balochistan province.
A 12-inch pipeline in the Bolan district was blown up by some unknown individuals, according to the SSGC spokesperson, and gas supply to Quetta and neighboring towns had been halted as a result.
According to the spokesperson, inclement weather caused a delay in pipeline repairs. Nevertheless, after five days of battling, the technical team was able to fix the pipeline and restore gas service to the affected areas.
Gas supply to Quetta, including Mach, Mastung, and Kalat, was cut off when the pipeline was destroyed.
According to an earlier report, Quetta residents are being forced to use old-fashioned techniques to stay warm as the gas crisis worsens in the Balochistan capital city.
The people of Quetta are compelled to use the most traditional method of igniting a fire due to the city’s gas shortage. They gather wood to burn to cook and heat their homes in the chilly weather.
Utilizing this time-tested technique puts the entire environment, not just the homes, in danger because it calls for the cutting down trees at a time when the climate is already getting worse.
