Six people have been killed after a knife attack in Changsha, the capital of central Hunan province, triggering momentary panic from a Chinese public still reeling from the Kunming train station massacre.While the reasons for the attack were not immediately clear, eyewitnesses and local news reports indicated it broke out on Friday morning after a dispute between two vendors who sold Uighur-style flatbread.
The brawl quickly escalated and turned violent at a market in the city’s Kaifu district.Among the dead was the suspected assailant, who was shot dead by police with his knife still in hand.Four people died at the scene, while the other two died after being rushed to hospital, according to state media.
