Due to the severe heatwave affecting the area, the Sindh government has delayed intermediate exams across the province by five days.
On the recommendation of Muhammad Ali Malkani, the provincial Minister for Universities and Boards, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah aims to ensure the safety of students and exam staff.
The exams were originally scheduled to start on May 22. However, according to a spokesperson from the Universities and Boards Department, acting on directives from CM Shah, they will now commence on May 27.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted three potential heatwaves in various cities over the next 25 days.
According to their advisory, high atmospheric pressure will likely cause heatwave conditions in many parts of the country, particularly in Sindh and Punjab, starting May 21, and another heatwave from May 23 to 27.
During this period, temperatures in Punjab and Sindh are expected to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal from May 21 to 23 and could rise by 6 to 8 degrees Celsius from May 23 to 27.
Similarly, in other parts of the country, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan, temperatures may remain four to 6°C above normal from May 21 to 27. Authorities have been advised to stay vigilant and implement necessary measures to mitigate the impacts of the expected heatwave conditions.
