The Sindh government announced its commitment to intensify efforts against drug trafficking and abuse throughout the province.

The decision was made during a meeting led by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, during which officers from the Excise Narcotics Control Wing provided updates on ongoing anti-narcotics initiatives.

During the session, Minister Memon called for more rigorous actions against the drug menace, emphasizing that drug dealers pose a significant threat to the community and will face strict repercussions. He underscored the critical state of drug distribution and consumption, which is escalating in both urban and rural sectors of Sindh.

Minister Memon stressed the importance of strengthening law enforcement activities and improving the prosecution process for drug-related cases to address these challenges. He pointed out the necessity for more effective legal actions to dismantle the networks involved in drug trafficking.

Furthermore, Minister Memon issued specific directives to tighten security measures at inter-provincial borders. This strategy aims to prevent the influx of narcotics into Sindh by enhancing the scrutiny and control at key transit points. This move is part of a broader push by the Sindh government to curtail the spread of illegal drugs and protect the well-being of its citizens.
