Lahore: The second day of the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week was held on Sunday at the Expo Centre, featuring the works of nine designers.
The High Street fashion segment was opened by Generation, with their collection titled I See You. The brand, which has emerged as one of the top selling local brands in the country featured a collection with a funky, stylish and hip look that consisted of crop tops, palazzos, skirts, silk tops paired with straight pants, cuffs and sling bags as accessories. Generation struck a chord for their cool colour palette and a wearable factor to their collection.
Lahore-based designer Shirin Hassan debuted at the PSFW with her Rock N Rolla collection. Hassan brought her signature aesthetics to the ramp that included a bold colour palette mainly with chunri and block prints. Chiffon, organza, silk and jamawar fabric paired with chunky necklaces made quite a statement on the ramp. Jumpsuits, straight pants with cholis, flowy gowns, jackets, full skirts and cropped tops, made quite a statement on the ramp. Hassan stood out for her vibrant choice of colour palette.
Designer Rayya Gilani also made her PSFW debut with Vintage Luxury collection. Silk skirts with full length blouses, tights with straight shirts, graphic and vintage floral prints were key features of her collection.
The concluding High Street fashion show of the day was presented by retailer fashion brand Beech Tree who showcased their Spring/Summer 2015 collection Porcelain Dreams. The fresh and cool colour palette stood out on the ramp for its interesting cuts that involved cutwork jackets paired with embroidered and lightly embellished pants. Loose tops with flowy jackets with their intricate embroidery exuded a fresh look. Box clutches making a statement of their own looked very stunning.
The afternoon prêt-à-porter shows on Day 2 were opened by designer label Muse who showcased a collection titled Discipline and Drama. With a monochrome colour palette that involved oversized tops, flashy embellishments, silk skirts and palazzos, the perfectly pleated lowers with corresponding colours looked beautiful. The collection displayed confidence depicted in black and white and volatility in gold, silver and slivers of colour. Set in fabrics of organza, the collection featured flared long pants, cropped tops layered with coats and metal belts with embellishments of beads, pearls and French sequins. Very classy!
Saira Shakira showcased their Eclectic Retro collection that featured a candy colour palette, which looked funky and very vibrant. Printed top jumpsuits with crochet loose jackets, long gowns, luxe fabrics such as organza, silk, cotton and chicken with cuts such as high hems, A-lined silhouettes, loose over-sized looks and a colour palette of whites, bright hues, denim and camouflage were key features of the collection. Loved the neon shades!
Up next was Nida Azwer with her Iznik collection that consisted of ball gown skirts, full-sleeved blouses with embellished borders; the look draped like a sari, summer jackets, pants and tops along with flowy silhouettes. The blue and teal colour palette with a dash of white was simply stunning. The elaborate work done on skirts could not be overlooked.
Teena by Hina Butt with Suzandozi collection was very much for the younger generation, with a hip look. From hoop earrings, to a bright and a very summery colour palette, we loved the skirts, organza tops with silk uppers, floral embroidery for skirt and jacket borders and the intricate work done on both. With clean cut lines, the collection comprised of crop tops, volume gowns, straight printed pants, embroidered kurtas, skirts and digitally printed dresses. Immense hard work by the hands of the designer was evident throughout the collection.
Zara Shahjahan closed Day 2 with her collection titled New Vintage. Embroidered button down straight capri pants with chiffon blouses, printed pants based in a fresh colour palette of blue, maroon, pinks and pistachio greens on luxe silks and karandi were the key features.
Look forward to Day 3!
