Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif put forth the names of ex-Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf and Supreme Court attorney Mustafa Ramday for positions on the PCB Board of Governors (BoG).

This development arrives in the wake of the PCB’s interim Management Committee chair, Najam Sethi, stepping back from his candidacy for the board’s forthcoming leadership role.

Today’s Prime Minister’s Office announcement included two nominees distinct from Sethi to sit on the PCB’s Board of Governors.

The statement confirmed, “The prime minister, acting in his capacity as the PCB’s patron, and under the provisions of Article 1011)(d) of the PCB’s Constitution 2014, is delighted to nominate the following for appointment as Members on the Board of Governors of the PCB — Muhammad Zaka Ashraf and Mustafa Ramday.”

The government’s announcement acknowledged Ashraf and Ramday as the ex-PCB chief and a Supreme Court advocate, respectively.

The governing body is set to vote for the PCB’s new chair, concluding the tenure of the board’s interim Management Committee, which assumed control in December of the previous year.
