Seven individuals were fatally shot while asleep in Balochistan’s Gwadar city, according to local authorities. In the Surbandar area near the Gwadar Fish Harbour, gunmen attacked a residential quarter, killing seven and wounding one, reported Gwadar Police Station Officer Mohsin Ali. The victims, employees of a local barber shop from Punjab’s Khanewal district, were later transported to Gwadar Hospital.
This violent incident occurred three weeks following the murder of 11 people in separate attacks in Balochistan’s Nushki district. In those attacks, militants stopped a bus on the National Highway, abducting and later killing nine men from Punjab. A search operation revealed their bodies near a hill, under a bridge. The men, identified as labourers from various Punjab towns, had recently planned a trip to Iraq.
Furthermore, the same day witnessed another attack in the city, resulting in two fatalities and three injuries. Meanwhile, on March 20, security forces thwarted an attack on the Gwadar Port Authority, where multiple explosions and gunfire were reported.
