At least seven more children have died due to malnutrition in Tharparkar and the death toll has steadily climbed up to  triple digits to reach 101 in January 2016.

According to details, seven more children died on Saturday. Five toddlers died at Mithi Civil Hospital while two toddlers died at Umarkhot Civil hospital, respectively.

The children who succumbed to malnutrition were identified as Al’had Somro, Zeeshan, Javed, Kawita and Hanesh Kumar.

The doctors said that more than 100 children were provided with medical assistance in various hospitals. Two children in critical condition were referred to Hyderabad hospital.

Kawita was brought to emergency ward of Mithi Hospital while the victim’s family accused that doctors’ negligence led to their daughter’s death.
