A senior serving Pakistan military officer sued a UK-based YouTuber and ex-army officer, Adil Raja, for defamation and damages before the London High Court.
Adil Raja accused General (ret.) Qamar Javed Bajwa of rigging elections against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), horse-trading, and conducting secret meetings with PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to manipulate Punjab by-elections.
Serving Pakistani military officer takes extraordinary defamation case against Major (retd) Raja over YouTube and Twitter posts with false and absurd charges.
Adil Raja began his campaign against the serving military brigade on June 14, 2022, when he accused a Pakistani officer of fixing Punjab by-elections in a tweet.
Lawyers told the UK High Court that Major retd Raja’s allegations damaged their client’s reputation.
Major (ret.) Raja revealed that a current brigadier had sued him for defamation.
The defendant Major (retd) Raja Adil, has also confirmed on different news channels that a serving military officer has filed a defamation case against him before the London High Court.
Lawyers told the UK High Court that Major (retd) Raja “conducted a determined and prolific social media campaign against the claimant, publishing many Tweets and videos, many of which are seriously defamatory of the claimant, and all of which, due to their content, tone, and frequency, have caused the claimant serious harm.”
