The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced the shortlisted designs for a new series of currency notes, ranging from Rs10 to Rs5,000, scheduled for release by the end of the year.
In a press statement, the SBP praised the creativity of local artists involved in the design competition. The designs are undergoing final reviews by international designers who will determine the banknotes’ final appearance.
“The SBP aims for the new series to reflect our nation’s cultural richness and forward-looking ethos. We anticipate the designs will embody this collaborative spirit,” the SBP communicated.
The proposed designs include images of national icons such as Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Fatima Jinnah. The international designers, who will contribute their global perspective and expertise to the project, will refine these further.
The competition’s winners will be acknowledged with cash prizes, and the SBP will soon announce the details of the award ceremony.
