Indian inventors have created a pair of high-tech satnav shoes that promise to help you find your way home. The Lechal system is available as a ready to wear shoe or as an insole to wear in your own shoes. It uses a Bluetooth link to connect to the mapping system on a mobile phone, sending discreet vibrations to their feet telling them which way to go.
The Lechal shoes cost around £100 and can last around three days before they need recharging.”They are as easy to use as a tap on the shoulder,” said Krispian Lawrence, 30, who developed the shoes with Anirudh Sharma, 28, in Hyderabad, India.”You can also tell them how many calories you want to burn and they’ll plot the perfect run or cycle.”
