Pakistani off-spinner Saeed Ajmal is all set for his bowling action test, due on January 24 in Chennai, as he will be leaving for India today (Thursday).
As per the details, Ajmal will play the most important match of his career while giving the test of his re-modelled bowling action.
The ICC banned him from bowling on September 9, 2014, after his action was challenged as illegal for all his myriad deliveries.
According to ICC rules, a bowler cannot bend his arm beyond 15 degrees while bowling. Unfortunately, Ajmal’s deliveries go well beyond the proscribed limit.
Pakistan’s ace off-spinning wizard had an arsenal of deliveries to bamboozle his opponents, all of which were deemed illegal by the ICC.
Saeed Ajmal had cleared an unofficial bowling action test earlier and is now trying to get official permission to relaunch his career.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), if Ajmal fails to clear the official bowling test, he will likely be asked to re-clear the test instead of being restricted for one year.
