Romanian authorities seized a fleet of luxury automobiles and other assets worth an estimated $3.9 million from Andrew Tate.
According to reports, the cars were sized from a complex near Bucharest in an ongoing investigation against polarising social media star Andrew Tate, who is arrested on human trafficking accusations.
Romania’s National Agency for the Administration of Unavailable Assets says it took 15 luxury cars, 14 designer watches, and cash in numerous currencies. The agency valued the products at 3.6 million euros ($3.9 million).
Six masked police and other authorities raided the compound Saturday to take the stuff. The fleet featured a blue Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Aston Martin, and Mercedes-Benz.
Tate, 36, a British-U.S. citizen with 4.5 million Twitter followers, was detained in Bucharest on Dec. 29 with his brother Tristan and two Romanian women for organized crime, human trafficking, and rape.
After a judge extended their arrest from 24 hours to 30 days on Dec. 30, all four lost an appeal on Tuesday. Tate lost another appeal challenging prosecutors’ case-related asset seizures a day later.
Romania’s DIICOT anti-organized crime agency confiscated 15 luxury vehicles and found over 10 Tate brothers-owned residences and land.
Ramona Bolla, a DIICOT representative, said the assets might finance investigation costs and victim compensation if prosecutors prove they made money through illegal operations like human trafficking.
