Lynn Ban, renowned for her role in the reality TV show ‘Bling Empire: New York,’ passed away on January 22 at the age of 52 due to complications from brain surgery necessitated by a skiing accident in Aspen, Colorado, on December 24.
The tragic accident on Christmas Eve left Ban bedridden in the hospital after she suffered a fall near the mountain’s summit and hit her head, though she managed to return to the base. A subsequent headache led her to seek medical attention, where doctors diagnosed a brain bleed and urgently transferred her to a trauma unit.
Ban underwent an emergency craniotomy. She regained consciousness post-surgery, remaining hopeful about her recovery and the year ahead. “My mum passed away on Monday,” her son Sebastian shared on her Instagram, accompanying the message with touching family photos. “She wanted to share her journey after the accident and surgery, so I believe she would appreciate this final post to those who supported her.”
Sebastian’s post continued, “Many of you knew my mum from her public persona but didn’t know her personally. She was my best friend, an incredible mother, and cared deeply for everyone.”
He described Ban as a resilient fighter throughout her recovery, always smiling despite the challenges. “She was the strongest, funniest, and coolest mum I could have asked for,” he added.
While the exact cause of Ban’s death remains unclear, it likely relates to surgery complications, which had left her with a noticeable scar.
As he faces the loss of his mother, Sebastian is determined to honor her legacy and ensure her memory endures. “She devoted her life to our family,” he stated. “Though she is no longer with us, I will do everything in my power to keep her memory alive and celebrate her life as she deserves.”
In closing, Sebastian expressed a heartfelt message: “Mum, I will miss you forever and end with something she always told me: ‘I love you more than life itself.’ – Sebastian.”
