The Punjab Police has officially announced that the incident in Bahawalnagar, which gained significant attention on social media, has been successfully resolved through mutual agreement between the involved institutions.

In a recent statement via their “X” social media account, the Punjab Police addressed the incident as a minor dispute misrepresented and amplified online.

The controversy began to unfold on the first day of Eid when reports emerged on social media alleging an attack on the Bahawalnagar police station by 40 to 50 army personnel, accusing them of assaulting police officers.

The Punjab Police, in their clarification, emphasized that there was an effort to falsely portray a clash between the Pakistan Army and the Punjab Police, distorting the reality of the situation.

In response to the circulation of unverified reports, both the Pakistan Army and Punjab Police undertook a joint investigation to thoroughly examine the facts, leading to a peaceful resolution of the matter.

The joint statement also highlighted ongoing collaborative efforts between the Pakistan Army and Punjab Police in executing operations against terrorism, criminal activities, and threats to public safety throughout the province. They appealed to the public to disregard misleading information spread through social media channels.

Additionally, the Punjab Police’s announcement on social media was accompanied by community reactions, including shared footage depicting the altercation between soldiers and police officers. Social media commentary included sarcastic remarks about the downplaying of the incident, referencing the demeaning treatment of police officers depicted in the videos.
