In Lahore, the cost of constructing residences for government officials has surged from 1,644 million to 2,696 million rupees.
During the planning meetings, concerted efforts were made to ensure that the “personal engagements” of the officials living in these residences were not disrupted, as Aik News journalist Gohar Ali reported.
Reflecting an increased allocation of resources towards government officials, the Punjab government has launched an initiative to provide each official with a residence valued at 350 million rupees in Lahore’s upscale Defense Housing Authority (DHA) area. This expansive project entails the development of 137 new luxury homes within DHA Lahore.
Sources close to the development have disclosed that the DHA authority will assist in constructing these homes, which are set to occupy 1,400 kanals of land, with each house spanning 2 kanals.
The initiative marks a significant investment in senior officials’ living conditions, aligning with broader efforts to enhance governmental housing infrastructure.
