The Punjab government has allocated funds worth Rs200 million to the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) under a bailout package to help the department in overcoming its four-year financial deficit.
However, Wasa is still facing a deficit of Rs300 million in spite of the bailout package. Wasa was facing a deficit of Rs500 million prior to the bailout due to which the department has been unable to initiate any mega water project in Rawalpindi during the last four years.
