The government has declared a public holiday on September 29 for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi ul Awwal). The announcement came after the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, led by Chairman Abdul Khabeer Azad, confirmed that the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon was not sighted.
As a result, the Islamic month will start on September 18, with Eid Milad-un-Nabi, celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), falling on September 29 (Friday). This decision was reached after assessing moon sighting reports from various regions and consensus among committee members and religious scholars.
