Amir Khan Chamkani, a prominent member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Student Wing and the General Secretary at Iqra University’s district Peshawar ISF, was reportedly abducted by unknown assailants in Nothia Bazaar, Peshawar.
Chamkani, known for his active participation in student movements and recent vocal presence on social media, was taken by two masked individuals driving a black vehicle with tinted windows.
The incident has sparked immediate concern among the student community and PTI members, leading to urgent calls for his safe return. During a press conference, PTI representatives expressed their distress over the situation, threatening to escalate their response if Chamkani is not released promptly. They warned that failure to secure his release could lead to significant public demonstrations across Peshawar, stating, “This is just a press conference; if students take to the streets, there will be no turning back.”
The abduction of Chamkani has heightened tensions in the region, where political activism and student movements are often met with resistance. The demand for his immediate release underscores the seriousness of the situation and the potential for further unrest if the matter is not resolved quickly.
