PTI has been allowed to stage a protest rally in Islamabad against alleged rigging in May 11, 2013 polls, but with a long list of conditions
The Interior Chaudhry Nisar announced during a press conference on Thursday and said
“An official approval will reach the PTI administration later this evening; however they will have to abide by the conditions we have laid down”
The conditions are
- No one will enter the red zone.
- Vehicles of the rally-goers cannot go beyond Kulsoom Plaza in Blue Area.
- The stage would be set 100 yards away from Express Chowk.
- No weapons of any kind will be brought to the meeting.
- Routes will be pre-designated for people coming from Azad Kashmir, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
- Vehicles will be denied entry if anyone riding on them was found carrying firearms or guns were found hidden inside.
- Bringing minors or infants to the public meeting is banned as children could be used as human shield.
- Fireworks of any kind are also prohibited.
- Separate enclosures will be set up for women.
- Private shipping containers will not be engaged by force or for free.
The minister said thousands of personnel of police, Rangers and FC would provide a three-tier cover on the occasion so that a particular pressure group or a vested interest could not violate the sanctity of red zone and the security of federal capital.
