The PTI has accused the federal government of not taking serious steps in ongoing talks with the opposition, according to PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqqas Akram. He suggested that certain ministers’ statements could undermine the dialogue process.
In a recent statement, Akram criticized the government for questioning the opposition’s intentions, attributing the stalled progress to the ruling coalition’s lackadaisical approach. The dialogue began over two weeks ago but has faced significant obstacles, including the PTI’s limited access to their founder, Imran Khan and their reluctance to formalize demands in writing.

Akram called on the government to address disruptive elements within its ranks that are hindering the negotiation process. He reiterated PTI’s readiness to negotiate, which was highlighted by Imran Khan’s creation of an empowered negotiating committee.
The PTI demands clarity from the government to lower political tensions and ensure Khan’s uninterrupted involvement in the talks, emphasizing his role in finalizing decisions. Akram also stressed the importance of the government arranging an immediate meeting between the PTI negotiating team and Khan.
The PTI’s consistent demands include the release of all under-trial prisoners, including Imran Khan, and the establishment of a judicial commission.
Meanwhile, PML-N leader and Prime Minister’s aide, Rana Sanaullah, said the PTI committee might meet Khan soon. He emphasized the necessity for the PTI to submit their demands in writing to advance the dialogue, stating that the government needs these documents to respond appropriately.
