On Friday, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, met with President Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House in Karachi.
During the meeting, President Zardari praised the Bohra community for contributing to Pakistan’s socio-economic progress.
President Zardari highlighted the community’s involvement in Pakistan’s economic and business sectors. He commended their efforts in education, health, and other areas, specifically acknowledging Saifuddin’s dedication to social services in Pakistan.
Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin’s visit to Karachi, which began on July 4, followed an invitation from the Government of Pakistan and the local Dawoodi Bohra community to lead the Ashara Mubaraka congregations. During these gatherings, he delivered a series of sermons starting July 14, also attended by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
Ashara Mubaraka marks ten days in the Islamic month of Muharram, commemorating Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his grandson Imam Hussain (SA), and their family and companions. The event is a tribute to their courageous stand and sacrifices for justice, truth, and humanity.
The sermons throughout this period covered various themes and disciplines, urging community members to draw wisdom from the Holy Quran and emulate the exemplary qualities of the Prophet (SAW) and Ahl al-Bayt. This guidance aims to strengthen their faith and help them navigate the challenges of contemporary life.
