President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir attended the funeral prayers for the martyred Lt. Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Bader in a terrorist attack in Mir Ali, North Waziristan on Saturday.
During the event, President Zardari honoured the fallen heroes and reaffirmed his commitment to combating terrorism forcefully.
According to a press release from the President’s Secretariat Press Wing on Sunday, he reiterated that the Pakistani people and its military stand together against terrorism.
Zardari vowed to hold terrorists responsible for every fallen soldier’s blood, emphasizing that these brave individuals defend the nation’s frontiers. Additionally, he assured that the sacrifices of these patriots would not be in vain.
In the early morning of March 16, six terrorists targeted a security checkpoint in Mir Ali, North Waziristan District.
The troops repelled the initial assault. However, the attackers then detonated an explosive-laden vehicle at the post and launched multiple suicide bombings. This attack caused part of a building to collapse and led to the martyrdom of five soldiers.
