Key opposition parties of the Parliament have announced their all-out support for the much-awaited military offensive in North Waziristan. However, some political parties showed mixed reactions, whereas Imran Khan’s PTI, which endlessly preferred “peace talks” over army action, has yet to announce its final stand.
Pakistan People Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Awami National Party (ANP) declared that they support the full-fledged action launched on Sunday.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), which rules KPK as PTI’s coalition partner, calls upon the government to take all political forces into confidence over the operation.
