To improve the state of the metropolis, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has announced Rs. 150 billion in packages that cover all important sectors.

The package includes improving storm drains, upgrading the state of the streets, bridges, emergency services, the fire department, the water board, transport facilities, and recreational facilities in the city.

PPP Senator Saeed Ghani said that all important sectors had been included. However, he insisted that “the package is not to influence the local body elections which are to be held in December but for the benefit of the citizens of Karachi.” He added that none of the projects announced would be inaugurated before December, and the projects announced in the package would be completed by 2018.

Ghani admitted that Karachi’s problems would not have been completely eradicated even after completing all projects.
