The likelihood is high for the Eidul Fitr moon to surface in today’s skies, signifying Ramazan’s conclusion. Born at 11:21 pm Monday, the moon will age 19 hours and 41 minutes by sighting time in Islamabad, granting the capital’s residents a brief ten-minute viewing from 7:02 am to 7:31 am.
Various regions are preparing for this moment. Azad Kashmir will have visibility from 7:01 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Quetta from 7:25 a.m. to 7:54 p.m., Pasni from 7:29 a.m. to 7:57 p.m., and Peshawar from 7:08 a.m. to 7:37 p.m. Lahore expects sightings between 6:54 p.m. and 7:21 p.m., and Karachi from 7:15 p.m. to 7:42 p.m.
Today, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad and inclusive of diverse government body members, convenes in Islamabad for the Shawwal moon’s official sighting. The meeting will benefit from zonal contributions across Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar.
In light of Eid, the government has declared holidays from April 10 to April 12 for five-day workweek offices and April 10 to April 13 for six-day schedules.
