The Jirga of the Opposition parties visited former President and co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari on late Saturday night at Bilawal House, Karachi.
Zardari, yet again advised the political parties to comprehend the delicacy of the circumstances and they should quit their egos and obstinacy.
Talking to media after the meeting, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq argued that the country is facing with multiple crises; hence, the opposition parties do not want any deadlock to crop up in the negotiations.
Siraj also remarked the political Jirga thrashed out such a way out of the prevailing critical situation that is not detrimental to the democracy. At the same time, the solution will make way for the protesting parties to return home but not empty-handed, he added.
Haq informed the media that such a formula has been brainstormed that will be a win-win for both the democracy and the protesters of Islamabad sit-ins.
Earlier receiving the Jirga in the metropolis, Rehman A. Malik maintained that the two sides are demonstrating egocentric attitude; but, it should be put to an end, adding no major breakthrough can be expected under the circumstances.
The former interior minister underlined the need for knocking off the politics of point-scoring, so that the country marches forward on the path of progress.
