Balochistan police arrested Gwadar Haq do Tehreek (HDT) leader Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman on Friday for inciting violence and other charges.

DPO Gwadar confirmed that Rehman, Nosherwani, and Murad were arrested at the courthouse.

Police charged Haq Do Tehreek leader Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman with murder, attempted murder, inciting violence, and other offenses.

After a policeman was shot dead during a demonstration in the last week of December, the provincial government tried to negotiate with Haq Do Tehreek (HDT) protesters.

Protesters wanted fewer checkpoints, easier border trade, and an end to deep-sea fish trawling near Gwadar.
