Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says he is still hopeful that talks with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) can succeed in spite of the fact that the militant outfit ended a ceasefire it had announced earlier.
The prime minister said this during an interview with a British news agency.
“Talks offered the “best option” of ending the country’s long conflict”, said he replying to a question.
Since the TTP rose up against the Pakistani state in 2007, more than 6,800 people have been killed in bomb and gun attacks around Pakistan.
