Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved a summary to extend the upper age limit of candidates appearing in Central Superior Services (CSS) examinations from 28 to 30 years.
The summary was moved by the planning and development ministry a few months ago, but the prime minister declined to sanction it, citing procedural flaws in the draft.
The upper age limit for serving government employees (both federal and provincial) has been increased from 30 to 32 years for CSS examinations.
This age limit was reduced from 32 to 30 for government employees and from 30 to 28 for other candidates appearing in CSS exams during the Musharraf regime.
The prime minister approved the summary at a federal cabinet meeting held in Lahore.
