The pharmaceutical companies have warned the government to begin protests on January 5 country-wide if the federal government does not address the Pharma sector’s problems.
Noor Meher, the president of the Pakistan Drug Lawyer Forum, told the media that new stockpiles of pharmaceuticals had arrived at Karachi port, Lahore dry port, and other ports in the country, but the authorities have not given clearance.
Meher stated that 91 percent of Pakistan’s pharmaceutical raw materials are imported, and if govt don’t allow clearance, the pharmaceutical companies and their employees are compelled to protest in the streets.
He announced that all pharmaceutical businesses will shut down operations on January 5 and launch nationwide protests if the raw material is not cleared from Karachi port, Lahore dry port, and other ports in the country.
As a result of the federal government’s misguided actions and policies, the nation faces an acute scarcity of life-saving pharmaceuticals. After encountering difficulties, the pharmaceutical corporations threatened to shut down operations and stage protests nationwide.
