On Saturday, the City Police Officer (CTO) of Peshawar suspended two traffic wardens for issuing a Rs500 fine to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member provincial assembly MPA Sher Ali Afridi for a traffic violation.
MPA Afridi filed a complaint with the CTO, stating that despite identifying himself as a member of the assembly, the wardens responded disrespectfully.
In their defence, the traffic police claimed the suspension was due to the wardens’ misconduct towards the lawmaker. Sher Ali Afridi represents PK-77 in the Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
