The Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has summoned to Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to appear on Saturday, June 17.
According to local english newspaper “The News”, the Punjab Chief Minister House has confirmed that they had received the summons from the Panama JIT in which Sharif had been asked to appear before the probe body.
The sources said Shahbaz Sharif had been asked to bring documents related to the Hudaibya Paper Mills.
They said the chief minister (CM) holds 10,000 shares in his own name and 303,000 shares in the name of his daughter, Rabia Shehbaz Sharif, in the Hudaibya Paper Mills, which according to some reports, was allegedly used for money laundering in the past.
It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah in his media talk on Tuesday ironically ‘advised’ the JIT that if it wants to undertake a PhD on the Sharif family, then it should summon the Punjab CM.
The JIT has already summoned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who will appear before it on Thursday (tomorrow) at Islamabad’s Judicial Academy.
