Muhammad Bashar, a ten-year-old from Swat, Pakistan, has brought honour to his country by securing fourth place in Algeria’s international Quran recitation competition.
His performance at the competition underscores Pakistan and Algeria’s deep cultural and spiritual connections.
Bashar participated in the “Mazamir Dawood” contest hosted by the Algerian private media outlet Echorouk. The contest, from August 18 to 31, featured participants from over 15 countries.
By achieving fourth place in this esteemed event, Bashar won a prize of $1,500.
Echorouk annually organizes this event to highlight the skills of young Quran reciters globally. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments of Algeria also holds this annual international contest, sponsored by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
