Salman Bhojani, a Pakistani-American Democrat from Karachi, has been re-elected to the Texas State Assembly. He secured his second term by running unopposed in District 92.
Bhojani, who first took office on January 10, 2023, initially won his seat by defeating Republican Joe Livingston in the 2022 election with a vote tally of 20,182 to 14,610.
This year, no Republican challenger emerged, and Bhojani faced no opposition within his party—perhaps a testament to his strong performance during his first term.
Bhojani was educated at the University of Texas in Dallas and holds a law degree from Southern Methodist University, and he has a diverse background as an attorney and former city council member.
Throughout his campaign, Bhojani emphasized the significance of local and state elections, advocating for increased political engagement within the Pakistani-American community. He stressed the power of voting to enact preferred legislation at local and state levels, reinforcing every vote’s impact on shaping governance.
