Pakistan Railways Adopts Public-Private Partnership for Key Train

Pakistan Railways has announced a major shift to a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for operating multiple train services.

According to the PR spokesperson, several prominent trains will be run under the PPP model, including the Karakoram Express, Karachi, Awam, Green Line, Mehr, Chenab, Bolan Mail, Thal, Sukkur Express, Saman Sarkar, Mohenjo Daro Passenger train, Pak Business Express, Marvi, Chaman, and Hazara Express. The Shalimar, Bahauddin Zakariya, Kohat, Mehran, Attock, Jand, and Rawalpindi Passenger trains will also operate under this model.

Pakistan Railways‘ Chief Executive Officer, Amir Ali Baloch, assured that the PPP model would introduce top-notch facilities across these services. Dining cars have been upgraded, and premium options have been added to Tezgam and Zakariya Express.

Executive washrooms have been constructed at the Lahore Railway Station, receiving positive feedback from passengers. Similar facilities are planned for all major stations within the next three months.
