Pakistan is commemorating Kashmir Solidarity Day and reaffirming its commitment to supporting the legitimate struggle of Kashmiris to realize their inalienable right to self-determination as outlined in the pertinent UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
Every year, the people of Pakistan and the governments of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Jammu and Kashmir observe this day to show their support for the Kashmiris living in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), as well as to reaffirm their commitment and dedication to the liberation of the occupied valley from Indian rule.
People from all walks of life, including politicians, doctors, lawyers, social activists, students, and others, will hold rallies and demonstrations across the nation and form human chains to give the Kashmiris, who have been fighting for their freedom, new energy.
All Pakistani missions abroad would organize seminars and photo exhibitions to bring the worst forms of subjugation and human rights violations committed by India in the IIOJK to the world’s attention.
The national electronic media will also air special programs, and the print media will publish special supplements to draw attention to the significance of Kashmir Day and the long struggle of the Kashmiri people against the illegal Indian occupation.
The purpose of this day is to raise awareness of the long-running, unresolved Jammu and Kashmir conflict on a global scale and to reassure Kashmiris that they are not fighting alone and that the people of Pakistan and Kashmir are firmly behind them.
