Pakistan’s government has decided to sell its former US embassy (US).
The Foreign Office has approved the Pakistani embassy in Washington for selling its former officer, which was vacant for the last 15 years.
According to sources, the prime Washington building is worth $5 to $6 million and is being sold due to Pakistan’s ‘crunch’ economy.
The Foreign Affairs Division brought to the cabinet the case of two former Chancery buildings in Washington, 2201 R Street and 2315 Massachusetts Avenue, which had been unoccupied since the Pakistan Embassy moved in April 2003.
In August, sources said Pakistan will sell Qatar shares of the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan in exchange for Doha’s aviation investment.
The Roosevelt Hotel, opened in 1924, is a historic hotel in Manhattan’s central neighborhood.
