Pak Army moves heavy artillery to Pak-Afghan border

Pakistan Army has moved heavy artillery along with Pak-Afghan border in Chaman and Torkham.

Following military action against jamaatul Ahrar camps on the border.

In the recent offense, Pak Army killed commanders of the Jamaatul Ahrar (JA) on the Torkham border opposite Mohmand and Khyber tribal regions.

Jamaatul Ahrar group claimed to be behind the recent wave of terrorist attacks, has found safe haven in Afghanistan.

The security officials are of the view that any attempt to breach border security would be responded with full force. After the deadly suicide bombing on a shrine in Sehwan Sharif that killed over 80 people, security forces intensified patrolling in the areas along the Afghan border.

Pakistan last week summoned officials of the Afghan embassy to the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to protest over the recent terrorists attack reportedly carried out from Afghan soil.

The Afghan officials were handed a list of 76 terrorists hiding in Afghanistan.

The Afghan government was asked to either take “immediate action” against them or hand them over to Pakistan.

The bombings in the previous week have hit all four provinces and two major cities, shaking a nascent sense that the worst of the country’s militant violence may be in the past.
